AARP Article: How to Become a Mentor — and Why It's Good for Your Health

This AARP article features one of our volunteers, Janice Magri, 81, who assists a teacher at Goodnoe Elementary in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Janice talks about her experience as a mentor for younger students who are growing up in “a totally different time.” As someone who has lots of wisdom from many years of life, she recognizes that seniors, like herself, have lots of knowledge to offer.

S.A.G.E. allows seniors like Janice to share their unique wisdom with young students in their local area. If you’d like to read more about mentoring, how to become a mentor, and why it is good for your health, give the AARP article a read!

Join Us For Our 2024 Mad Golfer Golf Outing!

We’re at it again! The 14th Annual Mad Golfer Golf Club Outing, benefitting S.A.G.E., will be held on Monday, July 15 at North Hills Country Club.

The field is limited to the first 100 players to ensure an enjoyable day of golf, so reserve your sponsorship or foursome now by emailing madgolfer99@comcast.net or calling 215-357-1622.

Another way to get involved is through a raffle at this event! If you’d like to contribute, we’re seeking donations of gift baskets or gift cards to be included in the raffle in the $50-$100 range. Gift certificates to local businesses would be a wonderful addition so we can encourage our participants to support the local community!

Please deliver your donations to S.A.G.E. by July 4, 2024 at 120 North Chancellor St., Newtown PA, 18940.

Thank you for your generosity and support!

Fun At Hallowell Elementary’s Lemonade Fundraiser Event!

Third graders at Hallowell Elementary celebrated a lemonade fundraiser event back in March, and we had some of our S.A.G.E. volunteers, George (left) and Sue (right) Class, join the fun! George and Sue got to meet their daughter’s former 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Arnaz (middle), at the event. Now, their daughter is 34, teaching full-time Kindergarten for the past 13 years!
